The Portland Trail Blazers knew that they had to trade their draft picks to land an All-Star-caliber player.
That wasn’t the case, and they now risk Damian Lillard forcing his way out of the team.
Recently, NBA insider Sam Amick (via NBACentral) reported that Lillard’s alleged interest in playing for the Miami Heat is “serious,” obviously prompting plenty of reactions on social media.

Truth be told, Lillard is a match made in heaven for the Heat and their culture.
He’s a hard-nosed competitor, a hard-working guy who will often lead by example, and the kind of player who rises to the occasion, regardless of how big of an underdog he is.
He’s a seamless fit for this system, granted that the Heat have craved another scorer, floor-spacer, and floor general for years now.
Of course, the Heat may not have the assets it would normally take to land a player of Lillard’s caliber.
But Damian’s steep salary makes him a tough player to move, not to mention the fact that the Blazers should honor his wishes after all he’s done for the organization since he first entered the league.
Lillard has constantly snubbed rival teams and stars trying to recruit him, even if that meant never winning an NBA championship.
The Heat have been quite close to winning a ring since Jimmy Butler got there, and it would be quite nice to see both of them winning a championship while they’re still in their prime, so it’s time Pat Riley works his magic.
