Throughout the years, many retired NFL players have pursued a career in the booth.

Some of them have been quite successful, and others not so much.

Notably, Houston Texans legend J.J. Watt has now joined the long list of former stars turned into color commentators and analysts.

True to form, Watt took to Twitter to break the news in a comical fashion, and he was met with plenty of positive comments and reactions.

Congrats brotha on the job you are going to kill it!!!

JJ, you have it all. Can you leave media to those who were never athletic enough to play? #snark

This isn’t much of a surprise, though, considering Watt has been a fan favorite among most fanbases almost since he entered the league.

Besides being one of the most dominant and talented pass-rushers in the history of the game, the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is also a beloved and respected member of the sports community for his charitable work, leadership, and easygoing nature.

Watt will now be a part of CBS Sports’ coverage for the upcoming campaign, and even though he had once claimed that he would never do something like that, he later admitted that he would miss the game too much if he didn’t do something to stay close to the field.

It’s been an eventful couple of weeks for the legendary player, as he was recently notified that the Texans intend to induct him into their Ring of Honor, which is no surprise at all.

Watt will have a tough time matching his résumé off the field with the one he had on it, but he’ll definitely try.
