The Houston Rockets have put together a very promising core of young players, but — as it often happens — that hasn’t translated into much success.

Some fans and beat writers have pointed the finger at Stephen Silas.

The coach has failed to establish any sort of winning culture, with plenty of iso-heavy basketball and little-to-no development between seasons.

But the future could still be quite bright at Rocket City, granted they acquire some veterans that could help the youngins play the game the right way.

With that in mind, ESPN Houston reports that the team is reportedly interested in making a run at Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown

Needless to say, the news went viral in a matter of seconds, with NBA fans taking to social media to react to the news.

This ain’t the news I was trying to wake up to

Truth be told, it might seem like a long shot, and there’s no obvious connection between Brown and the Rockets.

But Jaylen has been involved in multiple trade rumors over the years, and he has yet to sign a contract extension.

Brown will enter the final year of his contract next season, and he might be tempted to test free-agency waters if he doesn’t feel valued in Boston or if they fail to win the NBA championship this season.

The Rockets have plenty of assets to offer, not to mention a big need for a leader.

Also, with the rumors of a potential James Harden reunion in Houston, Brown could also be tempted to take his talents to the Western Conference.
