Fans React To Today’s Jerry West News

The NBA world lost an absolute legend on Wednesday morning, as Jerry West passed away at the age of 86 years old.

The news of West’s passing was shared by a number of media outlets, including ESPN and others.

Immediately after West’s death was announced, millions of NBA fans poured their hearts out online to celebrate the iconic player and executive.

He was called “one of a kind” by some Twitter users and “The Logo” by many more.

Of course, West’s silhouette has been used in the NBA logo for decades, a true testament to just how important he is to the association.

There is no doubt that that logo will be celebrated a lot over the next few days as people reflect on West’s life and career.

Some people called West the best basketball player of all time.

No matter how you feel about him or his years playing for the Los Angeles Lakes, West’s greatness cannot be denied.

During his 14 years in the league, he averaged 27 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists.

He had 14 All-Star appearances, was the 1970 scoring champion, an NBA champion in 1972, and earned his spot in the Hall of Fame and the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

West was so good, in fact, that he’s the only NBA player to earn Finals MVP for a championship series that his team didn’t even win.

If that doesn’t say just how impactful a player West was, nothing does.

West was more than just a crucial player in the history of the NBA, he was also a beloved executive who helped a number of teams over the years.

Through his years playing and his years leading teams, West had a sizeable influence on the league and will be dearly and deeply missed by anyone who loves the game of basketball.
