The Cleveland Browns won’t have their best offensive player on the field to start the season.
While it was always considered a long shot, knowing that Nick Chubb would remain out was still a big blow.
As reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Browns will leave the star running back on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, meaning he’ll miss at least the first four games of the season.

For those who aren’t familiar with the new rules, players placed on the PUP list before the 53-man roster cut will only be ineligible for the first four weeks of the season.
Needless to say, it didn’t take long before the fans expressed their concerns and thoughts about this news.

I’m no medical expert but I have a hard time believing Nick Chubb is ever gonna be Nick Chubb again.

It was expected from how gruesome his injury was, prayers for a recovery.

I hope he can heal completely. What a great player.

Chubb’s injury was very serious.
He hurt his ACL, MCL, and meniscus after suffering a gruesome hit in Week 2 vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers last season.
Reports about Chubb’s recovery always made it sound like he wasn’t going to be ready to start the season, although the team has remained optimistic and claims that he’s cleared all stages of his recovery with no setbacks.
Some insiders have predicted that the likeliest scenario was that he’d return after the BYE week to play in the second half of the season.
This is his second major knee injury dating back to college, and while he’s strong and young, this could have a massive impact on his game going forward.
