Rajon Rondo has spent 16 years playing in the NBA, bringing his special skills to the Boston Celtics, New Orleans Pelicans, Los Angeles Lakers, and others.

But his time playing in the league has come to an end, and Rondo announced he is officially retiring.

NBACentral celebrated Rondo, tweeting a video of his “amazing career” and the things he did during his many years playing basketball.

Upon the announcement of his retirement, many people came out to talk about Rondo and all that he accomplished.

However, some people were surprised to hear about Rondo retiring, not because he was stepping down but because they thought he already had.

“Wasn’t he retired for 3 years now,” one fan said.

Other people called Rondo “the last of the pure Point Guards.”

Rondo’s style is indeed a dying breed and there aren’t as many people who play “pure” point guard anymore.

The perfect PG for the BIG 3.

Other people said that Rondo should be talked about as one of the best guards to ever play in the NBA.

During his 16 years, he averaged 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.9 assists, shooting 45.6% from the field.

He was a four-time All-Star, three-time assist champion, the 2009-10 steal champion, and a two-time champion, once with the Celtics and once with the Lakers.

Why he not in the conversation for one of the best point guards ever ?

One fan said Rondo would make a great coach now that he is no longer playing.

This has been mentioned before and Rondo is consistently spoken about as a potential coach in the future.

He’s going to be a hell of a coach one day if he chooses to coach

Will we see Rondo again, perhaps playing in a different league or as a coach in the NBA?

No matter what happens next, nothing will change the fact that he will go down in history as one of the most energetic and intelligent guards to ever play.
