Fans React To Today’s Report On Dillon Brooks

The Memphis Grizzlies might need to make a decision soon.

Dillon Brooks looked very bad in Game 3 vs. the Los Angeles Lakers, not only because of the poor shooting but also because of that cheap shot on LeBron James.

This isn’t the first time that Brooks has made the rounds for that kind of dirty play, and ESPN’s Tim McMahon reported that they might not even want him on the team after this series.

“They’ve tried to move on from Dillon Brooks already… I don’t know if Dillon Brooks is on this team after this series.”

Unsurprisingly, the news was met with plenty of mockery on social media, as Brooks has talked his way into a villain role, and he’s perhaps the least-liked player in the league right now, which is a lot to say.

Anyone who thought we weren’t trying to trade Dillon for OG or Mikal at the trade deadline was lying to theirselves. I admit I’m sad to see him go but he’s a negative for a team trying to compete

Brooks was once considered a hard-working, gritty player with some upside, the kind of role player every team would want to have.

But he’s done a lot of talking this season, handling himself as if he were a multi-time champion or All-Star, which obviously isn’t the case.

Even Doris Burke didn’t seem to care about Brooks’ antics and called him out mid-game during his team’s loss to the Grizzlies, and he’s obviously becoming a distraction.

Brooks has been booed on several courts, even in Memphis, so local fans might not miss him if the team decides to move on from him, as reported.

He’s set to make north of $11 million next season and will be on a contract year in 2023-24, thus becoming an obvious trade candidate if the Grizzlies aren’t sure about signing him to a contract extension.
