The Russell Westbrook experiment in his hometown seems like it was never destined to be a long-term option or something that would turn out to be successful for the Los Angeles Lakers or Los Angeles Clippers, as he failed to make a considerable impact and, as a result, was traded and bought out once again.
After a short stint with the Clippers, the team decided to ship Westbrook to the Utah Jazz in a sign-and-trade deal in order to acquire guard Kris Dunn, which led to Danny Ainge and company promptly buying out the former NBA MVP making him a free agent.
Fortunately for Westbrook, he’s been given another chance to resurrect his career in the league as a potential game-changer, with superstar Nikola Jokic insistent on the Denver Nuggets signing him this summer.
Although this was a questionable move by a perennial title contender, the Nuggets have officially inked the veteran journeyman to a two-year deal, with the second year of his contract with Denver being a player option, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Not since his days with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he became a legitimate superstar and a household name in the NBA, has Westbrook really made an impact on a team and helped that team be a serious threat in its respective conference.
Now Westbrook will join a team that is coming off a disappointing exit in the second round of the NBA playoffs with hopes of bouncing back and contending for a title in the Western Conference once again.
