He may have enjoyed his time playing with LeBron James and Kevin Durant during the Paris Olympics, but Stephen Curry is re-committing to his Golden State Warriors.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Curry has agreed to a one-year, $62.6 million extension that will keep him under contract through the 2026-27 season.
Because of this deal, which will be signed on Thursday, Curry will earn $178 million over the next three years.

The news of Curry signing another deal with the Warriors was met with a ton of praise and just a small amount of criticism.
Many fans said he was worth “every damn penny”, which feels accurate when you consider what he means to the Warriors and how much he has helped them become the team they are.

Other people were shocked to see Curry was pulling in more than $60 million for a single season.
However, the Warriors would be in complete shambles if they lost Curry.
Few players have had the sort of effect on a team that Curry has on the Warriors.
For many people, Curry is the Warriors so it’s not shocking to see them offer him so much.

And many people were disappointed because they feel this dashes any hopes of Curry moving to the Los Angeles Lakers to play with his friend.
Of course, Curry could still demand a trade if the upcoming season doesn’t go well with the Warriors, but that seems even less likely now.

Curry will remain with the Warriors, just as many people expected.
Now the big question is if he can help the team rebound after a very disappointing 2023-24 season and get them back on track to return to the playoffs.
