It’s official.
The Miami Dolphins and Pro Bowl quarterback Tua Tagovailoa have agreed to terms on a massive extension.
According to insider Ari Meirov, the deal goes for four years and is worth $212.4 million.
This means that Tagovailoa ($53.1 million per year) will be the third highest-paid signal-caller in the game behind Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

The first question that a lot of people could be thinking about is whether or not Tagovailoa is worth this kind of money.
He has led the league in either passing yards or passer rating each of the last two seasons.
Additionally, the former national champion has led the Dolphins to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the start of the century.
However, he has not thrown for more than 30 touchdowns at any point, and health may still be a concern too.
The Dolphins still have not won a playoff game since the year 2000 either.
Taking all of that in, it feels like the organization is taking a risk by paying him for what his potential is.
After winning 11 games last season, the team has huge Super Bowl aspirations entering 2024.
Tagovailoa has to produce in a big way moving forward to prove that he is worth this kind of money.
But the important thing now is that Miami has their quarterback locked up, and that could also have ripple effects for other quarterbacks looking for major extensions such as Jordan Love and Dak Prescott.
