The Memphis Grizzlies have struggled mightily to begin this season after they finished with the second-best record in the NBA’s Western Conference last season.

They dropped to a 3-12 record on Friday after losing to the Phoenix Suns, who are starting to surge, 110-89.

Memphis fell apart in the fourth quarter, mustering only 16 points and getting outscored in that frame by 13, but one bright spot was the play of veteran guard Derrick Rose, who shot 8-of-9 and scored 17 points in just 21 minutes off the bench.

Fans were largely impressed with how he played, especially at this point of his career.

Big performance

Back in the day, Rose was one of the NBA’s better players, not to mention one of the most athletically gifted and explosive point guards it had ever seen.

He won the regular-season MVP award during the 2010-11 campaign, and that year, he led the Chicago Bulls to the best record in the league.

But the following spring, he tore his ACL during the playoffs, and it was all downhill for him afterward, as he has struggled to stay healthy ever since.

This fan feels Rose would’ve been an all-time great had it not been for his injuries.

Rose is an automatic scorer. Without the injuries, he could be next to James or KD really. I am happy he’s still playing and I hope Ja Morant can learn from him!

First ballot hall of famer!

The Grizzlies signed the guard presumably to be something of a mentor to Ja Morant, another explosive point guard who is currently serving a 25-game suspension for his latest gun-related incident.

But the team has also been hit hard by injuries, as former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart, another prominent guard it brought in during the offseason, is expected to be out until at least mid-December with an ankle injury.
