Even if you’re not a fan of the National Football League, you must know that its athletes aren’t exactly lightweight.
If anything, offensive and defensive linemen are known for being quite heavy, which obviously takes a toll on their bodies, especially after retirement.
That’s why it’s become a bit of a popular trend to see those guys drop a lot of weight as soon as they walk away from the game, with former OT Russell Okung being the latest example of that.
Okung posted a picture of himself on Sunday afternoon with the caption ‘Reborn,’ showing off an insane body transformation from his playing days.
Standing at 6-foot-5, Okung was listed at 310 pounds in his playing days, and it looks like he’s lost at least 90 in this picture.
Former Pro Bowl OT Russell Okung last played in the NFL in 2020. His playing weight was 310 pounds.

Needless to say, dozens of fans were in awe of his body transformation and took to Twitter to wish him well and congratulate him on such an impressive accomplishment.

Okung played in the NFL for 11 seasons, having successful tenures with the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, and Carolina Panthers.
He also made it to a couple of Pro Bowls and even won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks.
As we already mentioned, he’s not the first player to go through something similar after leaving the game.
Three years ago, Hall of Famer Joe Thomas stole all the headlines by showing off his svelte figure just one year after retiring.
Hopefully, more and more players will pursue this path after their playing days, as not many former athletes take that kind of care of their bodies once they’re done.
