The New York Jets have become one of the most talked about teams in the NFL during the offseason, with the team expected to be on the verge of acquiring superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers.
Although Rodgers publicly announced last month that he intends to play for the Jets next season, New York and Green Bay have yet to agree upon a deal to make it happen.
There have been conflicting reports over the last few weeks about which team is not budging in trade talks in terms of getting the proper compensation in the deal, but the Jets still seem confident that a trade is inevitable.
Jets general manager Joe Douglas may have made matters a little worse for New York lately when he said Rodgers will be in New York eventually.

Here are some fan reactions to Douglas saying Rodgers being under center for the Jets next season is inevitable:
A year from now everyone will be talking about what a bad deal this was for the Jets.

As some fans pointed out, Douglas’ comments could easily be considered tampering by the NFL, which could cost the Jets.
Even though this deal does seem inevitable, and Douglas likely isn’t wrong, the league doesn’t mess around and could make an example of the Jets.
As for when the blockbuster might happen, it’s anyone’s guess, as it hasn’t been made entirely clear what exactly is holding things up.
One would think these two would want to get the trade done before the 2023 NFL Draft on April 27 if draft compensation in this draft is involved in the deal.
