The Phoenix Suns were totally eclipsed on Thursday night.

They were easily defeated by the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals.

It was a horribly disappointing game for the Suns, who were beaten by 25 points.

Following the game, Kevin Durant spoke with the press about Denver’s Nikola Jokic, who again went off and earned a triple-double with 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists.

Durant said that didn’t shock him at all.

“I always knew how great he was…I wasn’t surprised at all…he’ll go down as one of the all-time great centers that ever touched a basketball,” Durant said of the two-time MVP.

Fans of the Suns and NBA had both praise and criticism of Durant for his comments.

They also criticized how he performed on Thursday.

Some people felt that he showed a lot of strong character by showing up and speaking to the press, especially considering his teammate Devin Booker chose not to.

This what separates the vets from the youngsters. Even in defeat showed up to press conference and gave props to opponent where it’s due. Kudos to KD

Multiple people referred to him as a “class act.”

Even in a loss KD still showing praise. Once again showing he is a class act and quite simply a fan of ball.

Many others poked fun at Durant for a bad night.

They also joked about Durant possibly joining the Nuggets now that they have defeated his team.

This is a reference to the age-old “ring chasing” jokes that started about Durant after he moved to the Golden State Warriors years ago.

Some found it ironic that he praised another team’s continuity when he doesn’t seem to stick with his squads for very long.

The man who keeps jumping ship and asks for coaches to be fired praises Denver’s continuity…

Durant had a very rough series against the Nuggets.

They repeatedly figured out how to limit him from all over the court.

He is rightfully praising Jokic, who may be possibly on his way to his first Finals MVP.

Now Durant gets to sit back, relax, and watch from home to see how far Jokic goes.
