In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NBA put together a closed environment in Orlando, Florida, for the playoffs, which was referred to as the “bubble.”
This quarantined NBA teams during the playoffs, which led to some squads flourishing and others falling apart.
One team that was considered a legitimate NBA title contender at the time was the Los Angeles Clippers.
Unfortunately, the stacked roster led by Paul George and Kawhi Leonard struggled to reclaim their dominant form and were beaten by the Denver Nuggets.
Former Clippers guard Patrick Beverley believes that the team would’ve won it all if it hadn’t been for this bubble experience.

Of course, Beverley is not one to shy away from making controversial comments and seems to do so on a regular basis these days, especially after starting his own podcast and following in the footsteps of Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green.
However, the bubble had an interesting impact on players used to playing in front of large crowds and feeding off the energy it provides.
George was one of many players that struggled in the bubble, as he found it hard to play in that environment while being unable to be with family for the majority of the time.
Although it will always be a debate as to whether things would’ve been different had there not been a bubble in terms of which team won it all, the fact remains that the Los Angeles Lakers came out on top and is viewed as a legitimate title in the eyes of the NBA.
