For months, Aaron Rodgers’ saga with the New York Jets was the hottest topic in sports media.

He publically declared his intention to play for them, and after several weeks of deliberation, a deal has been struck.

However, when the details of the deal were revealed, Robert Griffin III highlighted his thoughts on the matter.

According to Griffin, the Jets got “Fleeced” by the Green Bay Packers.

The Jets are BONAFIDE Super Bowl contenders now, but that doesn’t change the fact that they got ABSOLUTELY FLEECED on this trade. Packers are getting a better fist round pick this year, a 2nd rounder this year, and a more than likely 1st rounder next year for 1-2 years of Rodgers

In this deal, the Packers received the Jets’ 2023 1st-round pick, along with one of their second-rounders.

They also received a conditional 2024 pick, which turns to a 1st-rounder if Rodgers plays over 65% of the snaps in 2023.

After Griffin’s reaction to this trade, several fans pitched in, expressing their thoughts on the matter.

Griffin indicates that Rodgers is only going to play one or two more years, which many fans disagree with.

If Rogers is motivated and stays in shape he can play 3 or 4 more years easily.

As both of these fans indicate, Rodgers’ track record speaks for itself.

He is a four-time NFL MVP, and many believe that a change at quarterback is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Jets.

If they are Super Bowl contenders as Griffin suggests, this trade was very well worth it.

Despite Rodgers’ past excellence, other fans don’t agree with Griffin’s analysis.

Much respect for your takes as always, but Rodgers did not make the SB with some very good GB teams, and this Jets team needs time to mesh. Maybe in 2024.

Can we all stop with the Jets are Super Bowl Contenders? Rodgers hasn’t been to a Super Bowl in 13 years and is going to be 40. Yes he might make them a playoff team but the Jets still aren’t better than the Chiefs, Bills, Bengals, Dolphins, Chargers and maybe even the Jags. https://t.co/RczEOilKpe

I don’t see it that way. I think it’s fair compensation. Both sides should be happy.

And Rodgers is gonna love the New York Media vs that hard hitting northern Wisconsin media

The Jets had one of the best defenses in the NFL in 2022, and have only added to their roster.

However, as these fans and many others have pointed out, the AFC is significantly more difficult than the NFC.

For the Jets to make a Super Bowl run, they will have to go through Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow, just to name a few.
