All season long, the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors were inconsistent and enigmatic, and for the most part, they never really look like their previous championship selves.

They won just 44 games in the regular season and had to finish it with a flurry in order to do so, and at several points of their first-round playoff series against the Sacramento Kings, they looked to be in trouble.

Many doubted if they could win Game 7 on Sunday in Sacramento, but they got the job done with a convincing 120-100 win to move on to the Western Conference semifinals.

Head coach Steve Kerr cited the team’s experience and championship pedigree over the last several years.

“This is not a one-year flash in the pan. This is a decade that they’ve done it.”

Fans generally agreed with Kerr’s assessment.

This was the first time they were down 0-2, and they overcame it. Now they’ve seen everything. Still going. I love this team.

This woman felt the series with the Kings was a classic, even though it was an opening round series.

This series was the Championship Series for me, period BB at its finest

By the time a series reaches a seventh game, both teams know each other inside and out, and it is usually the intangibles that decide the winner.

The Kings were in the postseason for the first time since 2006, and although they were impressive this season, they simply lacked players who had been there before and knew how to win under pressure.

Golden State, on the other hand, did something it has done before — win a Game 7 away from the Bay.

Most notably, they did so in Game 7 of the 2018 Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets, forcing that team into an incredible cold spell and setting the scene for their third world title in four seasons.

Now the Warriors will have to overcome LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, a team they have had some trouble beating in the regular season over the years, but they will be ready and prepared for the challenge.
