Even though he has been averaging an impressive 26.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 10.2 assists a game, no one would say that this season has been great for Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks.
There has been a lot of strife within the team and they are only the eighth team in the East, despite their ambitious acquisition of Dejounte Murray last summer.
Additionally, a slew of rumors have swirled around Young, questioning his future with the Hawks and a possible desire to cut ties with the team in the near future.
Young only threw fuel on the fire recently when he addressed trade rumors.

This was a very loaded response and people were talking about it immediately online.
Some people thought it was heartless to send such a shock through the Hawks right before the play-in tournament.

Plenty of others think that Young requesting a trade from the Hawks would be a bad call, simply because he’s not as great as he thinks he is.

This latest comment from Young will bring even more attention to the Hawks during the play-in tournament.
If they can fight their way into the playoffs, Young will likely stick around a bit longer.
But if they fall short, rumors about him departing soon will only grow.
