The hype train for the Colorado Buffaloes is once again flying off the tracks this season after a long offseason of Heisman buzz for quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, both of whom popped off in their season-opening 31-26 win Thursday night over North Dakota State.

Hunter posted seven catches for 132 yards and three touchdowns while also chipping in three tackles on defense, but one catch got the fans out of their seats both in the stadium and at home.

Hunter inserted the final dagger on third and goal with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter and made an incredible 3-yard catch in the front right corner of the end zone where he boxed out the defender and ripped the ball away from him after Sanders threw it slightly over his right shoulder as he was falling towards the sideline.

Social media enjoyed this one and were amazed, to say the least.

Hunter was the best player on the field in the game and is staking his claim for being the best overall player in college football due to his acumen as a defender on top of his seemingly taking the next steps in his development as a receiver.

The two-way star put up 57 catches for 721 yards and five touchdowns last year as well as 31 total tackles and three picks.

This was easily the most spectacular of Hunter’s three touchdowns, and he quickly has everyone wondering just what kind of year he is capable of having and how high he will go in next year’s draft.
