On Sunday night, the St. Louis Cardinals selected Chase Davis with the No. 21 overall pick in this year’s Major League Baseball Draft.
Davis, a native of Elk Grove, California, was drafted out of the University of Arizona.
This year, Davis was a member of the Division I Baseball All-American Second-Team.
He also made the Pac-12 Baseball All-Tournament Team and was the Tournament MVP.
Davis was even a Dick Howser Trophy semifinalist.
He now is set to embark on a new journey in St. Louis.
On Twitter, Tommy Davis, Chase’s father, posted a touching message in response to the Cardinals drafting his son.
That’s my boy! https://t.co/sUIoJexq3p

Tommy’s message read “That’s my boy,” with a heart emoji, prayer emoji, and muscle emoji.
Davis’ father is certainly proud of him for his latest accomplishment.
As the slugger’s father, Tommy had a front row seat to see the man he ultimately became.
He watched his son put in countless hours of hard work to make his dream come true.
Davis will now get that chance with the Cardinals organization.
But it’s safe to say that Tommy is one proud father after learning of the news of his son being drafted by the Cardinals.
He understands how much time and effort is required to be good at baseball and to have a future in the game, and he saw his son put in that extra work day in and day out while he was growing up.
