It’s been a while since Fernando Tatis Jr. played in front of the home crowd at Petco Park.
The San Diego Padres star missed the entire 2022 season after suffering a wrist injury during the lockout and later being issued an 80-game PED suspension.
However, the slugger made his return to the Padres lineup on April 20.
The Padres had been at home since the return of Tatis.
But on Monday, they finally played a game at home with their former All-Star active and healthy.
And as Tatis ran out to patrol right field, fans in San Diego gave him a nice warm hand, welcoming him back.

As Tatis ran to his position, he waved his arms up in the air to hype up the crowd at Petco Park.
Clearly, there were no hard feelings over what had taken place last season.
Fans in San Diego certainly missed seeing Tatis in action.
He made his MLB debut back in 2019 and immediately provided a spark in the Padres lineup along with Manny Machado.
The Padres reached the postseason as a Wild Card team in 2020.
That year, Tatis hit a clutch home run against the St. Louis Cardinals in the Wild Card Series and performed an epic bat flip that found its way onto the cover of MLB The Show 21.
The Padres have performed well since the return of Tatis, having won seven of their last 10 games and have come to within one game of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West division.
