The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers are set for a big series in LA this week.
Even though the series will not have any NL West playoff implications, it is always a great battle between these two teams.
Both teams are full of star players and that is what makes this a must-see series.
One player who always plays with flair is Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr.
He is one of the best players in the sport and is someone that fans tune in to see.
For this series, Tatis will pay tribute to the late great Kobe Bryant.
He will wear these purple, gold, and silver cleats with 4,750 crystals, via MLB Life.

This is a cool gesture from Tatis, who is showing love for an LA legend.
Bryant was in the prime of his career in the early 2000s.
That is the time a lot of these professional athletes were kids and became fans of Bryant.
You can tell that Tatis was one of those kids.
Bryant was the favorite NBA player for plenty of future athletes.
Also, his “Mamba mentality” is something that many athletes try to replicate.
Even though the Padres have been abysmal this season, they are still playing for pride.
San Diego is eight games out of a Wild Card spot and that is a deficit too far to overcome.
Nonetheless, this series is worth watching to see what Tatis will do while wearing those cleats.
