After only a few weeks into the new NBA season, everyone is already wondering who will claim this season’s MVP trophy.

It’s obviously one of the highest honors a player can receive and the competition for it is tougher than ever before.

Right now, the race to be Most Valuable Player is intense and promises to only get tougher as the season goes on.

NBA TV released their first MVP ladder of the season on Friday, and they have Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets leading the way with the best chance to win.

Behind him is the league’s reigning MVP, Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This is quite an interesting list for a number of reasons.

Jokic and Embiid battled it out last season, with Embiid eventually coming out on top to win his first trophy.

Jokic, of course, won MVP for the two consecutive seasons before that.

Both Jokic and Embiid have gotten off to a terrific start and each rules their respective conference.

Doncic has been talked about as an MVP candidate for years.

However, his team’s problems have overshadowed his chances during the NBA’s long season.

Right now, the Mavericks are second in the West with a 6-2 record.

Tatum is again the best star on one of the league’s best teams, the Celtics.

He has also been mentioned as a possible MVP for a few years now and could be on his way to winning.

As for Gilgeous-Alexander, this could end up being his best season yet.

With a fully healthy and strong roster, Gilgeous-Alexander is again playing exhilarating basketball.

There are many storylines to watch during the season and the race for MVP is definitely one of them.
