The NFL continues to be king; football continues to be king.
Year after year, the league continues to draw even more viewership, and that’s despite older fans complaining about how the game is less physical, easier, and watered down.
That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to see that the first round of the NFL Draft drew an average of 12.1 million viewers.
According to a report by Front Office Sports, the first round of the event drew more viewers than the 2023 NBA Finals, World Series, and Stanley Cup Final, all while going up 6% from last season.

We’re talking about an event in which we wouldn’t even see the players taking the field, yet it was still first and by a significant margin.
Of course, that’s not much of a surprise.
This year’s edition of the NFL Draft drew plenty of hype, and rightfully so, as there are several potential stars about to enter the league.
Caleb Williams is one of the most hyped prospects in NFL Draft history, and the comparisons with Patrick Mahomes make Chicago Bears fans very excited, especially considering they’ve never had a legitimate franchise-caliber quarterback.
The Washington Commanders also landed a potential superstar in Jayden Daniels, who’s drawn comparisons to Lamar Jackson.
As for Drake Maye, having the weight of being Tom Brady’s potential successor is a heavy load to carry, and it might take a while before he’s even ready to step onto the field.
Hopefully, this exciting class will live up to the expectations.
