The Chicago Bears have been around for more than 100 years.
That’s why it’s so hard to believe that they’ve never had a star quarterback.
Now, Caleb Williams is looking to put an end to that drought, but the fact of the matter is that history isn’t on his side.
More than history, perhaps geography and weather aren’t particularly encouraging.
At least, that’s how former Bears QB coach Pep Hamilton feels.
Talking on ESPN 1000, the former coach, who was with the organization for several years, addressed the difficulties of playing at Soldier Field.

He revealed that even though the Bears have made some mistakes regarding their quarterback situation, their home field doesn’t do them any favors, particularly in winter months, when Soldier Field has the lowest passer rating in the entire league.
Chicago’s inclement weather is no joke, and that was a big concern regarding Williams when he first entered the league.
We’re talking about someone who’s never been used to playing in that kind of cold, and some scouts and analysts are still very worried about that situation going forward.
It’s crazy to think that teams like the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs also play in the blistering cold at times, but perhaps it’s a matter of wind or whatnot.
Whatever the case, Caleb Williams will have his work cut out for him next season and for as long as he’s behind center in Chicago.
Hopefully, that’ll be for a very, very long time.
