The Boston Celtics are undoubtedly having a terrific 2023-24 NBA season.

The Celtics are currently the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 15-5 record behind the amazing performances of the team’s Big 4.

Sure, the Celtics may have four great players in Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jrue Holiday, but only one has the potential to truly be the best player in the league.

We are talking about none other than the four-time NBA All-Star, Jayson Tatum.

Former Celtics player Sam Cassell recently pointed out a “scary” thing about Tatum, via Chris Forsberg on Twitter.

“He has so much room to grow, that’s the scariest thing about it,” Cassell said of Tatum.

While many praise Tatum’s current talent, Cassell pointed out that the best part about Tatum is the fact that he still has a lot of room to grow.

Tatum is currently 25 years old and has already played in the NBA Finals, albeit suffering a loss at the hands of the Golden State Warriors in 2022.

In the 2023-24 NBA season, Tatum is averaging 27.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game for the Celtics.

He is also shooting 49.9% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point line.

Considering the Celtics are currently the best team in the Eastern Conference, and Tatum has played a crucial role in it, there is no surprise that he’s one of the favorites to win the regular-season MVP award.

Whether Tatum wins the MVP or not, the four-time NBA All-Star’s ultimate goal should be to bring championship banner number 18 to the TD Garden after the 2024 playoffs.
