The Las Vegas Raiders need a new head coach and a new general manager after firing both during the regular season.

Interim head coach Antonio Pierce proved in half of a season that he can lead a team, but Raiders owner Mark Davis will likely look at external candidates for the full-time job as well.

As for the GM opening, the Raiders have already locked in one candidate with previous front-office experience, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport: former Los Angeles Chargers GM Tom Telesco.

Telesco ran the Chargers for a decade after spending many years in the Indianapolis Colts’ front office.

Los Angeles fired Telesco – alongside head coach Brandon Staley – during the regular season after another disappointing year.

He had a lot of success in the draft, though, after selecting stars like quarterback Justin Herbert, wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, running back Melvin Gordon, edge rusher Joey Bosa and safety Derwin James during his tenure.

Telesco also discovered Austin Ekeler as an undrafted free agent in 2017, who became one of the best running backs in the NFL.

The Raiders need a hard reset after the Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler era in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas doesn’t have a clear quarterback solution and will have to make a decision with running back Josh Jacobs this offseason.

The defense is very solid, though, which should make any sort of rebuild a bit easier for the next GM.
