Winning NFL teams might state that the Super Bowl is won in May, and they might be right.

The start of the season is still months away, but it’s never too late to start building a winning culture.

That’s why former NFL coach Blake Williams claims that OTAs are all about developing culture and winning habits.

Talking on the “Come Get Some” podcast, he and his dad Gregg talked about OTAs as the right time to discuss and show what’s going to be done and how it’s going to be accomplished.

Culture is the most important thing during OTAs.

“How it’s gonna be done. How we’re gonna do it.”

We’ve seen talented teams crumble over and over because of their lack of structure or questionable habits.

That may have been the case with the Philadelphia Eagles last season.

They were fresh off a trip to the Super Bowl and had the best record in the league at some point, then it all fell to pieces as soon as Nick Sirianni seemed to lose control of the locker room.

Personnel shifts, an apparent lack of trust in the coaching staff, and his volatility on the sidelines made a promising season crumble right before our eyes.

On the flip side, everybody talked about how the Kansas City Chiefs weren’t as good anymore and how they wouldn’t be able to repeat, but they wound up rallying together like good and winning organizations do to prove everybody wrong.

Every step of the way and every minor detail counts when you want to win a championship, and OTAs give teams a chance to start with the right foot.
