The Philadelphia Eagles have the best record in the league, and they continue to find ways to win football games.
Nonetheless, the Dallas Cowboys were quite close to taking them down, and even though they fell short when it mattered the most, Mike McCarthy’s team left a very good impression in that loss.
The Eagles and Cowboys still need to meet again this season, and a win over them could give the Cowboys a massive confidence boost ahead of the postseason.
With that in mind, legendary RB Emmitt Smith told Kevin Clark his thoughts on the gap between both teams, and his words should be quite encouraging for Cowboys Nation.
The Cowboys are one of the hottest teams in football. I asked Emmitt Smith what the gap is was between his former team and two best teams in the NFC, the Niners and Eagles. “I think the gap is going to be between the ears of the Cowboys.” Great episode of This Is Football. pic.twitter.com/lBQP6KIBZk

Smith believes the actual gap between both teams is between the Cowboys’ ears, meaning they need to get it in their heads that they can actually beat that team.
Dak Prescott has fared quite well vs. the Eagles in his career, and they proved that they could compete toe-to-toe with them earlier in the campaign.
The Cowboys continue to struggle to beat Super Bowl contenders, but their win on Thursday night should prove that they do have what it takes to beat winning teams.
McCarthy’s team has crushed bad teams and has gotten the job done more often than not.
Some people have a right to be skeptical after watching them crumble under pressure so many times before.
But this might as well be the year the Cowboys get over the hump once and for all, and they surely have what it takes to pull it off.
