The New York Giants are heading into an uncertain season with Daniel Jones under a ton of pressure to prove he can be their franchise quarterback and the coaching staff figuring out how to navigate the loss of star running back Saquon Barkley as a free agent this offseason.
The Giants also have question marks on defense due to some disappointing draft picks in recent years, but one of their recent first-round picks is looking to make an unlikely NFL comeback after almost three years out of the league.
NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero shared a clip of cornerback Deandre Baker working out to prepare for an attempted return to the league.

Baker played with the DC Defenders of the UFL this past season and was named to the All-UFL team.
The Giants selected him with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, but he was waived after one season following an armed robbery arrest, with the charges later dropped. He then signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, appearing in his last NFL game in 2021.
Baker made 15 starts as a rookie and collected 61 total tackles and eight passes defended.
It’s a bit late in the offseason to make a push like this, but it would be a notable comeback story.
Hopefully, the 27-year-old has all his legal troubles behind him, because his arrest cut short what looked to be a fairly promising career after an impressive rookie season.
