The Cleveland Cavaliers will be an interesting group to watch as they have a core of young players poised to make the next leap together.
The Cavaliers locked up their pillar pieces in Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen with extensions signaling that they’re ready to compete now.
Although teams like the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers stand in their way, Cleveland’s got the size and athleticism to keep pace.
Now, the attention turns toward the rest of the roster as they are likely a piece or two short from getting over the hump.
At this point of the offseason, there aren’t many moves left to make except the ones on the fringes.
With that in mind, the team has found a new two-way player in former Charlotte Hornets draft pick JT Thor via Shams Charania of The Athletic.
“Free agent forward JT Thor has agreed on a two-way NBA contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Thor – a 2021 second-round pick to Charlotte – averaged seven points and five rebounds in South Sudan’s games in the Paris Olympics,” Charania reported.

Thor most recently played for South Sudan, a feisty squad that didn’t go down without a fight and it was enough for him to secure another NBA contract.
Originally the 37th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Thor is still young enough to unearth some upside and this is a fine gamble for the Cavaliers who could use another versatile forward on the team.
He will likely spend most of his time with the G League, but developing him behind the scenes could work out.
