Detroit Lions fans were anxious but also excited heading into their Wild Card matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.

This was the first time the team hosted a playoff game in 30 years, a sign of the team’s struggles.

The 2023 season proved different for this team, earning the No. 3 seed in the playoffs, the reason they hosted the Wild Card game.

Given their lack of success over the past 30 seasons, the Lions quickly turned into a fan-favorite throughout the season.

They earned a lot of respect throughout the year and were praised for finishing the job against the Rams.

After their victory, several former players supported the team, including former quarterback Joey Harrington.

Harrington posted a photo of a cocktail to Twitter, giving cheers to Dan Campbell and Jared Goff.

He added that “Detroit deserves it,” an organization and fanbase that has struggled for years.

While this wasn’t a sweat-free victory, the Lions won when it mattered most.

Now, they await the results of the matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

They’ll play the winner of that game in Detroit since the Dallas Cowboys lost their matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

The fanbase has anxiously awaited a home playoff game, and they will now have a chance to watch at least one more game during this playoff cycle.

Can the Lions find a way to make magic happen again next week?

Their offense and defense have been strong throughout the year, a typical sign of teams advancing far into the playoffs.
