Technology is becoming a much more integral part of society as time goes on.
Even sports are seeing a drastic increase in the use of technology, especially baseball.
PitchCom is often used by pitchers and catchers to determine what pitches will be thrown.
At the minor league level, an electronic strike zone is used to determine balls and strikes, and Major League Baseball is set to experiment with it in 2024.
For the past several years, fans have been debating over whether or not it’s a good idea to have robot umpires.
Former MLB star Todd Frazier weighed in on the situation and shared his opinion on whether or not there should be robot umpires, via Stadium.

Former MLB Network analyst Scott Braun asked Frazier what he thought about the possibility of robot umpires.
Frazier stated that he was not in favor of that idea, as the game would be too much like a video game.
He also commented on the fact that arguments wouldn’t be the same.
Frazier believes an electronic strike zone would be a good thing, because hitters could ask umpires to check the monitors when a questionable call goes against them.
However, the former slugger and third baseman is still not in favor of robot umpires because it would essentially take the human element away from the game.
As Frazier put it, managers and players can’t yell at computers and robots, but they can still yell at actual umpires.
Erik Kratz also chimed in and said that before robot umpires can become a reality, the current umpires need to be held accountable when they make mistakes.
