Over the last decade or so, things have changed drastically in the NBA, with a lot of critical comments coming from retired players about how young players play the game these days.

One of those former players who couldn’t help but be critical of young players today and how he believes that I.Q. in the league is significantly diminished is Norris Cole, who won two NBA titles with the Miami Heat.

Cole made an appearance on Gil’s Arena to talk about how the game and its players have changed, with an emphasis on young players not learning sets early in their playing careers.

A player only has to be 19 years old in order to make it into the NBA, and players at that age are coming into the league more and more, with a lack of experience that they need in order to be successful via Legion Hoops.

Norris Cole says the IQ in the NBA has significantly diminished… Agree?

These kinds of conversations will happen any time a new generation starts to take over the league like it is today, with players like Victor Wembanyama, Anthony Edwards, Chet Holmgren, Luka Doncic and Trae Young leading the way.

The older generation will always criticize the new generation of players, even if the points that are made are valid.

This game is always going to evolve, with different players and styles of play coming and going, which is what makes the NBA and the game of basketball so interesting.

It’ll be interesting to see where the league goes from here and how the game continues to evolve moving forward.
