During Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies fell on his injured hand again and looked to be in great pain.

He rushed off the court and fans feared that he might be out for the rest of the game, if not longer.

He ended up staying on the floor but it was an alarming moment that got attention from fans and NBA insiders, including former NBA player Matt Barnes.

“If Ja continues to attack the basket that way his career won’t be very long,” Barnes warned on Twitter.

“The ground is undefeated,” he added.

Morant has suffered multiple injuries during his time in the NBA and his most recent came just last week.

He hurt his hand in the opening game of the series and ended up missing a game because of it.

Morant is one of the most explosive and exciting young players in the NBA but his style of play opens him up to these sorts of injuries.

The way he drives at the basket and attempts to move past or leap over opponents means that Morant often crashes down to the hardwood.

He is a young man and he should have many more years in the league.

But Barnes is saying that if he keeps it up and doesn’t alter his style, Morant could be one of the many basketball superstars who has had his career cut short because of injuries.

It’ll be hard to convince Morant to change how he plays because it often results in big wins.

But he is definitely running a risk of doing himself tremendous harm.
