The Washington Wizards are trying to find a trade partner that’s willing to absorb Chris Paul’s $30 million salary.
Needless to say, that will be easier said than done, as the teams that have that kind of cap space might not be interested in such an aging player.
On the flip side, contending teams that could benefit from his skills don’t have that kind of money available, so something’s gotta give.
That’s why Ashley Nicole Moss and former NBA player Antoine Walker talked about the actual and realistic possibilities for Chris Paul.

Moss cited that CP3 has already made a lot of money throughout his career and that even though she feels like he could still play for another three years, he could agree to take a pay cut and make $15 million instead of $30 if that facilitates being moved to a contending team.
Walker, on the other hand, believes he’s only got one year left because he’s been hurt way too often, which is why he also believes he should take a pay cut to pursue a championship in his final season.
Both agreed that he should only do so to play for a team that could give him a realistic shot at winning a ring, with Walker stating that the Los Angeles Lakers with LeBron James and Anthony Davis would be the right place to do so.
The Lakers would gladly take him any day of the week and twice on Sunday, but he still needs to clear some hurdles with the Wizards before that’s even a possibility.
