Even though he’s one of the most skilled players in the NBA and a former No. 1 pick, it seems like the fans — and even his own colleagues — don’t respect Karl-Anthony Towns.
Towns has averaged a double-double for his career and is one of the most skilled scoring big men the game has ever seen, yet he doesn’t get any kind of love.
That’s why the hosts of FanDuel’s “Run It Back” asked Jeff Teague, a former teammate of his, why he thinks that happens (via ClutchPoints).
“He one of the best players in the league. I think it’s because he changed his voice in his interviews… He really cold.”

Teague was joyful and joking as per usual, stating that it might have to do with the fact that he changes his voice to sound deeper when he does interviews, which is something NBA Twitter has trolled him about for years.
All jokes aside, Teague claimed that he’s one of the best players in the league and one of the most skilled bigs in the game, yet he does some stuff off the court that makes people look at him differently.
Towns has often been deemed as a soft player, and his altercation with Jimmy Butler didn’t do a lot to help his case.
Also, he’s failed to establish himself as a leader or put his team on his shoulders, and they had to rely on a younger player like Anthony Edwards for that purpose.
Even so, and regardless of the fact that most of his stats have come in meaningless games, he still deserves praise for his game, and not all players have to have strong characters to be stars.
