These days, many notable former athletes have carved out a post-playing career by joining media outlets to become analysts, where they can break down the game they’ve played and loved since they were children.

Quite a few former NBA players have gone on to earn more money off the basketball floor than on it by becoming entertaining analysts who break down games before, during and after the regular season and NBA playoffs.

The most notable former players who have made quite a lot of money as analysts are Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal, who seem to be the cream of the crop of their new professions and two superstars every former player appears to strive to be like in some shape or form.

Three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford is one of the many former athletes who is trying to find consistent work as an analyst, and now he’s apparently a free agent looking for a new gig, according to what he recently said on Twitter.

Thank you!
I’m actually a tv free agent.
So will see where my tv journey takes me. Definitely feel like I’ll be calling games though https://t.co/vnIAj71bE7

With the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season being the last that NBA on TNT will air, which has received considerable backlash because of the show’s popularity over the years, things will change drastically in terms of how the game is covered before and after games heading into the 2025-26 NBA season.

That said, many analysts may be out of work but may soon be hired when new shows pop up, looking for people like Crawford to help break down games during the season.
