Kemba Walker holds several records in Charlotte Hornets’ history, but he may not get a chance to continue building on that legacy in North Carolina, at least for now.

The former Connecticut Husky was unable to re-establish himself in the league, playing just nine games with the Dallas Mavericks last season.

And with the shortage of interest in his services at this point in his career, he decided to embrace a new challenge and take his talents overseas, joining European powerhouse AS Monaco, as reported by the EuroLeague’s official account.

Walker was a four-time NBA All-Star and a guy whose ascent was cut short by multiple knee injuries.

He outgrew the Hornets after years of putting up big numbers on losing teams, eventually taking his talents to the Boston Celtics.

But the team’s shortcomings and a string of injuries eventually cut that tenure short as well.

Walker signed with his hometown New York Knicks after being bought out by the Oklahoma City Thunder, but he failed to get his career off the ground in the Big Apple.

He’s now 33 years old and entering the final stage of his career, but at least he’ll get to play in a highly-competitive tournament as he rides into the sunset.

Perhaps, the Hornets will sign him to a one-day contract to allow him to retire with the organization.

After nine years and leading them in minutes played, field goals made and attempted, three-pointers, free throws, points, win shares, value over replacement, and many more, they should retire his jersey.
