NBA fans around the world have been amazed by the recent output from Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat.

Everyone knows that Butler is a phenomenal player (and has been for years), but not everyone thought he had the ability to lead this team to this magnitude.

Miami pushed past the Milwaukee Bucks and is now on its way to the second round of the playoffs.

Butler has been the biggest part of that success.

He’s always had serious fight and competitiveness inside of him, as made evident by a recent interview with former NBA player Jeff Teague.

On the Club 520 podcast, Teague talked about one incident when he was teammates with Butler while playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

During a particular practice session, Butler showed up late and refused to scrimmage with the starters, instead playing with what Teague called “the Bad News Bears.”

But that didn’t stop Butler and his group of lesser-known players from dominating the starting players.

Jeff Teague’s hilarious story about Jimmy Butler’s infamous Timberwolves practice when he beat the starters 18-6 with the Bad News Bears, yelled at the GM to “pay me” and then ran off to do an interview with Rachel Nichols.

This is more evidence of what so many NBA players already know: Butler is a devoted basketball star and has been since entering the league.

His time with the Timberwolves was brief, and it didn’t end on the best terms.

Based on what Teague said, he didn’t necessarily get along with some people within the organization, including a young Karl-Anthony Towns.

Since his time in Minnesota, Butler played for the Philadelphia 76ers for a season and the Heat for four years now.

It is this current team where he might find his most success.

Despite having a rather up-and-down regular season, the Heat are looking terrific and Butler has scored more than 30 points in four out of his last five games.

Teague says that Butler has always been a competitive player, so has all of that competitiveness finally paid off?
