Retiring from any professional sport is difficult for athletes.
It is a tough decision given the fact that they trained for their entire lives to play a particular sport, and they will not be doing that for a career anymore.
This is why many players decide to leave retirement or come back to the game after a long time apart from it.
They are searching, just for one more year, for another opportunity to suit up for the sport they love playing.
John Wall is a recent example of this, detailing a potential return to the NBA in a recent segment of Paul George’s podcast.
“I just wanna be in an NBA jersey again because I know how much the game means to me,” Wall said.

Despite being one of the most prolific guards in the NBA over the past decade, Wall hasn’t played a minute in the league since the 2022-2023 season.
He only started in three games that year, appearing in 34 total games.
Wall also didn’t play for the entirety of the 2019-2020 season or the 2021-2022 season.
Conventional wisdom might dictate that Wall’s playing days might be behind him, but he still seems to have hope for a comeback.
At 33 years-old, he wouldn’t be close to the oldest player in the league, but he certainly has some tread on his tires, which could make it difficult for him to have a tremendous impact on the game.
Only time will tell if Wall will try and resurrect his career.
