Quarterback Dak Prescott and the Cowboys are at a crossroads.

The All-Pro is entering the final year of his current contract with the team.

Jerry Jones now has to decide if or how much he wants to pay Prescott, who has performed well in recent years for the team.

Former NFL GM and current ESPN analyst Mike Tannenbaum recently brought up the idea of Prescott possibly wanting to go play somewhere else.

“How do you know that he necessarily wants to be there,” Tannenbaum stated on ESPN Radio.

Keep in mind that Jerry Jones has to pay a couple of his other star players in All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and All-Pro edge-rusher Micah Parsons, who are both going into the final year of their respective contracts.

Now, is Prescott likely to enter a holdout or even consider leaving the franchise?

He is a really good quarterback that has guided Dallas to three consecutive 12-win seasons.

He is also coming off his best year in terms of touchdown passes (36) and completions (410).

It is very clear that he is still in his prime and can help out any team.

That is why the Cowboys can’t lose him if they want to stay relevant.
