The Minnesota Vikings have hoped to have Kirk Cousins there for the long run, but that might not be possible.

Cousins is reportedly set to ask for a big payday, and the Vikings aren’t looking to spend big bucks right now, especially considering they also have to sign WR Justin Jefferson to a contract extension.

With that in mind, former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum believes he’s going to be an Atlanta Falcon.

Talking on UNSPORTSMANLIKE Radio, Tannenbaum stated that as much as everybody thought he was going to be back in Minnesota, every day that goes by without a new deal gets him closer to Georgia.

“I think he’ll be a Falcon,” Tannenbaum said.

The Falcons are in desperate need of a quarterback right now, so this move obviously makes sense.

They have three potential superstars in Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts, and Drake London, but they haven’t been able to take the next step because of their subpar quarterback situation, as well as some questionable head coaching decisions.

Then again, the fact that they could pivot from Justin Fields to Kirk Cousins is kind of shocking at this point.

Fields is a hometown kid and has a higher upside at this point in his career, not to mention he’s quite younger.

However, it seems like the Falcons are looking to get a proven and bona fide player as opposed to a project, as they want to compete right now in what most analysts consider to be the weakest division in the league.

As for the Vikings, they might be heading into the beginning of a new era.
