The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a tough spot right now.
Russell Wilson looked out of rhythm in his first preseason appearance.
But more than that, he continues to be plagued by the same issues, holding onto the ball for way too long and absorbing sacks he could’ve avoided.
Notably, things haven’t been much better with Justin Fields, who fumbled multiple snaps and has also been slow to make decisions.
The Minnesota Vikings, on the other hand, could also use an improvement at quarterback, as Sam Darnold will lead the way for them with J.J. McCarthy on the shelf.
With that in mind, former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum had a rather interesting proposition.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, he argued that the Vikings should trade for Wilson, as he’s a better quarterback than Darnold, so both of them could battle it out for the position.

As for the Steelers, they could look to reunite Ryan Tannehill with Arthur Smith, who was his offensive coordinator during his days with the Tennessee Titans.
As much sense as this could make on paper, it’s very unlikely to happen.
For starters, Tannehill is still a free agent and there are reasons why he hasn’t drawn any sort of league-wide interest.
Also, why would the Vikings trade for another struggling quarterback without even giving Darnold a chance to prove his worth?
The fact of the matter is that both teams are in a bad position, and trying to solve each other’s problems might not do much to help either of their cases.
