The Philadelphia Eagles had a breakout season last year, with quarterback Jalen Hurts becoming a legitimate superstar and leading the team to an impressive record of 14-3.
Hurts and company were able to clinch the NFC East division title and punch their ticket to the NFL playoffs, where they made easy work of the competition on their way to the Super Bowl.
Even though the Eagles ultimately fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, Philadelphia had officially arrived as a heavyweight in the NFC and is expected to be a force to be reckoned with during the 2023 NFL season.
With two weeks in the books for the Eagles, Philadelphia is already making some noise, as they were able to beat the New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings in consecutive weeks, which has drawn the attention of former NFL head coach Eric Mangini, who has been surprised by what the team has been able to do so far, via “First Things First” on FS1.

Mangini has been impressed with what the Eagles have been able to do during the past two weeks due to being able to find different ways to win.
On Thursday night, the Eagles were able to lean on their run game, with running back D’Andre Swift having a career-best 175 rushing yards and a touchdown, as Philadelphia pulled out the win against Kirk Cousins’ Vikings.
Swift was acquired by the team in the offseason for a fourth-round draft pick in 2025, which was a surprising move, but the team had to find a way to replace running back Miles Sanders, who signed with the Carolina Panthers.
Needless to say, the Eagles are headed in the right direction, as it could be another big year for Hurts and company in Philadelphia.
