The Los Angeles Chargers are trying to erase from memory their terrible ending to last season.
They led 27-0 in the Wild Card playoffs over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
But, they proceeded to blow the game and suffer one of the most crushing losses in NFL history.
It was a game where many people questioned quarterback Justin Herbert and his status amongst the league’s elite.
That is why this upcoming season is a big one for Herbert.
He needs to show he can lead the Chargers back to playoffs and win a playoff game.
One former player thinks Herbert compares to another elite AFC quarterback.
Patrick Chung joined “Up & Adams” to discuss Herbert.
He said, “I think he has it all… he kinda reminds me of Josh Allen.”

Herbert has great size and elite arm strength for the quarterback position.
While he may not be as good of a runner as Allen, he is efficient with his legs.
Outside of their traits, where Allen and Herbert are different is team success.
Allen has the Bills winning playoff games every year.
While Herbert has yet to win a playoff game in the NFL.
At some point, Herbert needs to show he can win big games.
He is entering the fourth season of his career and it is time for the Chargers to make a breakthrough.
Playing in the toughest division in football makes life difficult for the Chargers.
They will likely need at least 10+ wins to return to the playoffs this year.
While Herbert and Allen may be alike from a physical standpoint, he needs to do more to be in the top tier of passers.
