Chris Jones is frequently regarded as one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL.
He was a candidate for the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award in 2022, coming in third place in the voting.
Jones was a massive contributor for the Kansas City Chiefs last season and one of the main reasons they won the Super Bowl.
Jones’ play in 2022 raised eyebrows across the league, and in a recent conversation on ‘First Things First,’ Greg Jennings made a bold claim about Jones.
“Chris Jones is now the best defensive tackle in all of football,” Jennings said.
“I know what Aaron Donald has been for so many years. But Chris Jones is now the best defensive tackle in all of football.”

Jennings qualified this statement, indicating that Aaron Donald was the best DT before Jones.
He also indicated that Jones is “overlooked,” which is mainly due to the dominance of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense.
Many doubt the abilities of the Chiefs’ defense, given the fact that they are not among the league leaders in points allowed.
However, if their offense continues to put up nearly 30 points per game, their defense can afford to allow a few, here and there.
Having a player like Jones on defense can be a spark to the rest of the unit, encouraging their teammates to play to the best of their abilities.
Despite Jones’ accolades and public recognition, he hasn’t been signed to a contract extension.
He and the Chiefs are still in the middle of negotiations.
Jones does not seem worried, however, as he has said nothing but positive things about the organization during this time.
