C.J. Stroud has been seen as one of the top quarterback prospects ahead of the NFL Draft.

However, Stroud’s name was recently dragged through the mud by Brady Quinn, mainly due to him not appearing at a throwing camp over the summer.

Ryan Clark quickly came to Stroud’s defense, saying “He (Stroud) chose to work with his teammates at Ohio State instead before his final season.”

CJ Stroud never committed to attend the Manning camp.

He chose to work with his teammates at @OhioStateFB instead before his final season.

He wasn’t paid to go, & furthermore @Brady_Quinn what does acquiescing to the Manning family have to do with leading an organization?

Clark also questioned Quinn’s motives, wondering why he is inserting himself into a situation with a family that is not his own.

The camp in question is the Manning Camp, which is seen as an elite camp for quarterbacks.

In 2022, several quarterback prospects went to the camp, including Bryce Young and Will Levis, two of the top projected picks in this year’s draft.

However, Stroud’s lack of attendance was noticed by many, especially considering that he was originally slated to be there.

This situation has been widely discussed throughout sports media, with many in favor of Stroud.

Ultimately, Stroud is still projected to be a top-five pick in this year’s draft.

His attendance at this camp isn’t likely to impact his draft stock moving forward.

There are several quarterback-needy teams across the league, many of which could use Stroud’s services.

After a successful career at Ohio State, will Stroud’s game translate to the NFL?

Traditionally, Ohio State quarterbacks haven’t had a strong track record when transferring into the league.

Stroud is certainly looking to change that outlook.
