Kenyan Drake is a well-traveled NFL running back who played eight seasons with the Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens and Green Bay Packers.

Originally a third-round draft selection out of Alabama by the Dolphins in 2016, Drake enjoyed solid campaigns as a professional.

His most productive came in 2020 with the Cardinals when he rushed for 955 yards and 10 touchdowns.

However, as every player learns and running backs faster than most, there comes the inevitable time when your playing days are over.

NFL insider Josina Anderson reported asking Drake via text if the word that he was hanging up his cleats was true.

He responded, “Yes it is. It felt like the right time. I love the game, but I don’t love the business. I’m at peace with the decision. I’m healthy and ready to start the next chapter in life.”

Drake split time between Green Bay and Baltimore last season but only had two carries for the entire year.

The running back earned his way into NFL lore with a stunning play that will be watched as long as football is a sport – the “Miami Miracle.”

On December 9, 2018, the Dolphins trailed New England 33-28 and had only seven seconds left with the ball on their own 31.

A Ryan Tannehill pass over the middle was followed by two laterals, the last of which landed in Drake’s arms on the right sideline.

He broke a tackle before following a pair of blockers and finding an unlikely path into the endzone for a touchdown and a 34-33 victory.
