Clemson got destroyed in every facet in its season-opening 34-3 loss to Georgia and opened the door for plenty of criticism as the program is starting to look second-tier following three consecutive three-loss seasons and a fairly difficult early-season schedule still awaiting them after this drubbing.
Plenty of people are pointing the finger at head coach Dabo Swinney, and one former NFL star took to social media to toss a harsh criticism at the program.
Former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White posted on X that, “Clemson got way too many white dudes on the field on offense this ain’t them.” before adding that they “only got one black dude out there making plays” and cited it as a recruiting problem.

It’s never okay to make claims like this and bring racism or prejudice into a discussion, and this is the Week 1 leader in the clubhouse for tweets that probably should have been left in the drafts.
It’s also not based on any form of reality, so some tweets shouldn’t be taken seriously.
One legitimate criticism of Swinney that many are making that is based in much more nuance than Roddy’s tweet is the fact that Clemson doesn’t utilize the transfer portal.
Clemson gets Appalachian State next week and hopefully can do a little better in all facets.
